About the Millennium Courtyard Project
The Athletic Boosters is very proud of the Millennium Courtyard, a beautification project, which they designed and originally funded. The courtyard provides a wonderful opportunity to honor and memorialize your son or daughter's TJ experience.
The Courtyard's location
The Millennium Courtyard is located in the front of the school between the cafeteria and the library. It was designed to provide a campus-like setting where students, faculty, administration, and visitors to the school can gather to study, relax and socialize. It features an interior brick courtyard with a raised brick seat wall, and brick walkways. The former picnic tables have been relocated and the area has been landscaped. The project is funded by the sale of engraved bricks, which are incorporated into the paved interior courtyard and walkways.
About the Bricks
The Courtyard and radiating walkways are "dry set," enabling the replacement of regular bricks with engraved bricks every year. There are currently hundreds of engraved bricks representing over 20 different graduating classes and testifying to the wide interests of TJ alumni. When you visit the school, stop by and see the beautiful results. Spaces are still available for you to purchase a brick to honor your TJ student.
Engraving the Bricks
The bricks may be engraved with up to three lines of text and two emblems reflecting your student's achievements, activities, or character. Visit the courtyard and see the unique collection of emblems available and get ideas for designing your brick. The cost of an engraved brick is $60; each emblem is $15.
