Team Results

TJ Girls 1st, Boys 2nd at Liberty District Championship

The TJ girls team claimed the Liberty District Championship by accumulating 140 points during the 2-day competition held on May 14-15, easily outscoring 2nd place Stone Bridge's 104 points. The TJ boys' team pulled out a 96-point tie for 2nd place with Stone Bridge, thanks to a dramatic come from behind win in the final event — the rain-delayed 4x800m relay. Jefferson had six individual District Champions and two Championship relay teams.

Lauren Laffosse claimed TJ's first championship of the meet with a convincing win in the girls' pole vault at 9'6". Also winning 1st place for TJ girls was smooth running Kathryn Moore in the 300m intermediate hurdles with a winning time of 47.63, and Sarah Stites who churned out a gutsy performance of 11:28.31 to win the 3200m. TJ boys were led by school-record-holder Dan Markwalter who won the boys pole vault in 12'6". Dan was joined in the winners' circle by Timmy Galvin whose tremendous sprint at the end of the 1600m produced a winning time of 4:29.24. Alex Witko rounded out TJ's individual District Champions with his solid victory in the 3200m in 9:54.42.

Also claiming 1st place was the TJ Girls 4x800m relay team of Ronit Malka, Kimee Moore, Sarah Nielsen, and Moira Poje with a winning time of 9:52.01, and the TJ Boys 4x800m relay of Jacob Hanger, Logan Gates, Timothy Tran, and Timmy Galvin who claimed the District Championship in very dramatic style with an exhilarating come from behind victory and an excellent time of 8:16.91.

TJ Penultimate Experience Produces Great Performances

In their final performance before the Liberty District Outdoor Track & Field Championship competition begins on May 14, the TJ girls team claimed 1st place at the Penultimate Meet on May 9th out of 20 teams by accumulating 125 points… more than double 2nd place W.T.
