Team Results
State Championship Meet – November 11, 2006
The Boys Team earned a spot on the podium for the 5th year in a row, taking 3rd place in the state! Midlothian proved to be formidable, taking 1st place with a score of 55. Oakton earned 2nd place with 96 points and TJ took 3rd place, with 148 points. TJ's team effort was led by strong individual performances by Paul Norland (11th place – 16:39) and Richard Prevost (12th place – 16:39) who both earned All State honors. The remaining scorers for TJ were Evan Heflin (38th, 17:14), Aaron Bernstein (61st, 17:33), and Taylor Bostick (70th – 17:38). Congratulations on a great season everyone!

Northern Region Championship Meet – Nov 2, 2006
The Boys Team earned runner up honors – extending the team's streak of placing 1st or 2nd to 6 years! Oakton won the boys team competition with a score of 63, TJ took second with 87 points, and West Springfield was third with 103 points. Contributing to the team victory, Paul Norland took 4th place with a time of 15:10, Richard Prevost took 7th place with a time of 15:19, Taylor Bostick – 24th place (16:02), Aiden McHugh – 32nd place (16:07), Aaron Bernstein – 39th (16:15), James Komen – 44th place (16:26), and Logan Gates - 46th place (16:27). Paul and Richard both earned All-Region honors and posted the 4th and 6th fastest times in school history! Both Taylor and Aaron posted personal bests as well. Congratulations to all of you and best of luck at States!
The Girls Team placed 8th in the deepest Regional competition in nearly 20 years. Shannon Ready and Caitlin Sheldon both broke the 19min mark, posting times of 18:58 and 18:59 respectively. Connor Fleming improved her time from districts down to 19:12 and freshman Sarah Watson made her varsity debut a good one by running 4th and posting a time of 19:23, Nina Ran rounded out our scorers with a time of 20 mins and Mercedes Taylor and Iona Cristei were close behind with times of 20:02 and 20:05. Congratulations on a GREAT season, girls!
Liberty District Champions
The Boys Team won their second consecutive Liberty District Championship! Contributing to the team victory, Paul Norland earned his 2nd individual championship and Richard Prevost earned runner-up honors for the 2nd year in a row as well. Additional All-District performers were: James Komen 5th, Aaron Bernstein 8th, Taylor Bostick 9th, Logan Gates 13th and Alex Witko was just outside All-District placing 18th. Everyone posted a personal best or matched their personal best for the Burke Lake course.

Girls' Liberty District Championship
The Girls Team ran a GREAT race as well, earning runner-up honors, giving Langley (ranked 7th in the state) a scare 52-55! All seven girls posted Burke Lake personal bests and our top 5 girls earned All-District honors: Shannon Ready 6th, Nina Ran 9th, Connor Fleming 11th, Mercedes Taylor 14th, Caitlin Sheldon 15th and Ioana Cristei 26th and Veronica Holland 31st. Congratulations everyone!

October 21 — Liberty District Festival
Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, VA
TJ Cross Country had a GREAT day at the Liberty District Festival!
In the Girls 9-10 grade race, Sarah Watson took first place, and Megan Sagurton came in 8th place!
Our Girls 11-12 grade team won first place! Congratulations to: Kaitlin Kleiber 6th place, Julie Bell 7th, Nona Jiang 9th, Kelly Ran 10th, Hannah Dee 11th, Kari Yook 21st, Olivia Jeffers 24th.
Among the TJ boys, both the Boys 9–10 grade team and the Boys 11-12 grade team won their team competitions! Alex Witko took first place in the Boys 9-10 race, with 7 other TJ runners in the top 10: Timmy Galvin 2nd, Brian Davenport 4th, Colin Maloney 5th, Max Dreo 6th, Karl Sofinowski 7th, Joel Stein 8th, Joey Jachowski 9th.
In the Boys 11-12 grade race, Alex Ethier took first place, with the following TJ runners placing in the top 10: Kevin Brown 3rd, Ben Treweek 4th, Patrick Keating 5th, Kevin Kassing 6th, Simon Koyabashi 9th, Robert Svestka 10th.
September 9 — Monroe Parker Invitational
The first cross country meet of the season, the Monroe Parker Invitational, was held on Saturday, September 9, 2006, at Burke Lake. It was a great day for TJ cross country!
The boys Varsity team took 1st place for the 4th year in a row! Four of our runners finished in the top 15:
- Paul Norland – 4th place
- Richard Prevost – 5th place
- James Komen – 8th place
- Aiden McHugh – 15th place

First Place Varsity Boys XC Team
The boys JV team also took 1st place for the 4th consecutive year! Alex Witko, a TJ sophomore, ran a great race to win first place! TJ runners in the top 15 were:
- Alex Witko – 1st
- Will Clark – 4th
- Kyle Lamson – 6th
- Alex Ethier – 7th
- Jeff Catina – 13th
- Steven Kobayshi – 14th
The boys freshmen team came in second place by one point behind Lake Braddock. Three TJ freshmen finished in the top 15:
- Karl Sofinowski – 7th
- Brian Davenport – 10th
- Joey Jachowski – 12th
The girls teams had some fine individual performances as well. The girls Varsity team came in 8th place, the girls JV team placed 3rd, and the girls Freshmen team made a great effort, but could not place as they had an incomplete team (fewer than 5 runners).
